Booster Club Grants

WIAA athletics and activities supported by the Capital Booster Club include: band, baseball, basketball, bowling, cheer, choir, cross country, dance and drill, debate, drama/theatre, fastpitch, football, golf, gymnastics, knowledge bowl, orchestra, soccer, swim and dive, tennis, track, volleyball, and wrestling.

Grants can be used to fund any expense that can be paid for from the athletic or activity’s Associated Student Body (ASB) account. If you have questions about whether the expense is appropriate, please check with the Athletic/Activities Director. The WIAA also has general information about the use of ASB funds.

The request may cover more than one item or level (i.e., uniforms and equipment, varsity/junior varsity/C team) and may be used by more than one team (i.e., equipment shared by track and cross country, boys and girls soccer, all activities that use the theater). All uniform requests must be items that remain with the school (not participant specific) and consistent with the ASB uniform rotation.

Each Capital High School WIAA athletic or activity may request funds. The head coach/teacher must submit the online form.

The CHS Booster Club raises money for grants from concession sales and the CHS Booster Club Auction. The CHS Booster Club Board awards grants based on funds available and in a manner consistent with the WIAA policies and following priorities:

  • Safety (i.e., padding for volleyball standards, wrestling mats)
  • Equipment required for competition (i.e., uniforms, balls, microphones)
  • Other items or expenses for the team or activity (training equipment, entrance fees)

We also consider the number of students that benefit from the grant request, equity issues, and the CHS Booster’s goals of promoting health, sportsmanship, physical fitness, attendance, support, and enrichment for CHS students.

Complete and submit the online grant application form. Grant applications must be received by May 31 of each year.

The CHS Booster Club intends to notify grant recipients by the end of June. Funds will be deposited directly to the athletic or activity’s ASB account when the CHS Booster Club is presented with a purchase order for the granted item.

Any grant money that is not used by the beginning of the next award cycle will be returned to the Booster Club.
